Romeo and Juliet

Wolf Performing Arts Center presents Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet at Wolf Performing Arts Center.
The School of Verona, a prestigious Boarding School in Massachusetts in 2018, is a beautiful, sprawling institution that boasts students who are college-bound, career-driven and highly centered. Families seek out this school as a safe-haven from the complicated politics, violence and dangers in the “real” world.
Families such as the Capulets and Montagues attend the School of Verona. The Capulets, a wealthy family with a deep legacy in the school, are currently enjoying the success of their children. The Montague family is a bit more complicated, as one of their patriarchs found himself in trouble with the law, leaving his sons to attend the school on much-needed scholarship.
When these two families collide, the power of love triumphs over the strength of greed, appearances and wealth. In trying to shield their children from a world fraught with chaos, have these families driven them instead to their untimely death? This adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet asks difficult questions about power, corruption, loyalty, and betrayal. Ultimately, the force of true love is stronger than the need to uphold a family name.
