Sensory Friendly Train
Colebrookdale Railroad offers an autism friendly event including a sensory-friendly train ride along the scenic line.
The Parlor Car is designated as The Quiet Car for guests who want to avoid sound and other activities. As a result, no music or narration is broadcasted to this car. Guests can bring headphones to block out sounds if seated in other cars. Complimentary coloring books and crayons are provided to children. Guests are encouraged to bring sensory toy, fidget, or book to read. Boarding times are stagger as best possible. All artificial air fresheners are removed or turned off during this train ride. Guests are asked to refrain from wearing perfumes/cologne. Lighting is dimmed when possible. The a la carte menu is available for purchase. Those with special dietary needs can bring their own snacks/drinks.
Please keep your family and others safe by always wearing masks and maintaining social distancing measures. If an event appears too crowded, try using the “nearby” search feature on our event calendar to find something else to do.
