Free Admission to the African American Museum in Philadelphia
Visitors can enjoy the African American Museum in Philadelphia for free courtesy of Wawa Welcome America. Guests can expect to experience the richness and vibrancy of African American heritage and culture in four exhibition galleries filled with exciting history and fascinating art.
Families can expect to hear Revolutionary War Hero Ned Hector portrayed by historic reenactor Noah Lewis, go on a one hour tour of AAMP’s current exhibitions (offered at 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:30 PM), listen to orator Carlo Campbell read Frederick Douglass’ famous speech, “What to the Negro is the 4th of July? (offered at 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM), and enjoy an outdoor drum and dance performance at 4 PM.
