Habari Gani! On the first day of Kwanzaa, celebrate the principle of Umoja: Unity, which means “to strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.

Host Nikki Powerhouse will lead the night’s events, including featured poetry by Reet Starwind and interactive African dance and drum! Under the theme of the Nguzo Saba or 7 principles of Kwanzaa, a limited open mic is available. Enjoy the traditional foods of the Diaspora and set the tone for a meaningful week of celebration.
