Fairmount Water Works and Schuylkill River Development Corp. join together so guests can explore the Schuylkill River by land and water, participating in free, hands-on activities.

These activities are creating a mural of the historic Schuylkill River, examining microscopic life in a drop of river water and engaging in a native plant scavenger hunt. Participants bring their own lunch and afterwards hike the Schuylkill River Trail to the kayaks where they go out onto the water.

This program is designed for children 12 and up. Every participant must sign a kayak waiver, and participants aged 12-18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will need to sign the minor’s kayak waiver. Space is limited to 18 people. Masks must be worn and distance must be observed.
