Apollo 11 landed on the Moon July 20, 1969. In celebration of the 55th anniversary of this global event, Kennedy Space Center is honoring history while looking forward to NASA’s next giant leap – the Artemis missions.
Visit the weekend of July 19-21 to not only learn about the Apollo Program but hear the latest on the upcoming Artemis missions and our return to the Moon.
MOON FEST WEEKEND INCLUDES:
Space Shuttle Atlantis:
- Family-friendly activities (all day)
- Silent DJ from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
- The Pink Team 233 will exhibit a competition robot and mini-robots for guest interaction on the bottom floor of Space Shuttle Atlantis
Apollo/Saturn V Center:
- “Astro and Orbit,” comedy due performers at the People’s Moon exhibit at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM.
- Photo opportunity with the Moon rover (all day)
Journey To Mars Launched by United Launch Alliance:
- “Apollo to Artemis“ presentations from our space expert Steve at 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
Rocket Garden:
- “One Giant Leap” short film on the top of the hour (all day)
