Random Giveaway: Puj Go Baby Sling

product8_medium.jpg Four years ago, when my little one was a baby, slings were not as popular as they are today. They were still a little on the "alternative" side, as in, the people that I work with would say, "Remember when you came in to the office with your baby in that sling?" the way one might say, "Remember the time you shaved your hair into a mohawk and stretched your earlobes until you could poke a hot dog through the hole?" Like it kind of scared them, I think. But I loved my sling so much. I had one of the first simple tube slings, just a ring of fabric, actually fleece, that you just slipped on and put the baby in. You didn't have to adjust it or anything. That sling was so great and they were so hard to find, my friend and I actually contemplated starting a business making and selling them ourselves. Why am I such a crazy sling devotee? Let me count the ways...

  • Slings keep you sane when your baby is going through a phase and won't let you put him down.
  • Slings are like Ambien for babies, they are almost powerless against falling asleep once they are in one.
  • No baby gear overload. I could go out with baby with a sling and a diaper and be good for hours.
  • It's so nice having baby up close with me where we can talk and look at stuff together.
  • They keep your hands free to actually do something even though you can't put baby down.

I love slings that much and we didn't even have beautiful cool slings like Puj Go slings. homepage-heather.jpghomepage-kate.jpghomepage-florence1.jpg Puj Go is a mom owned company that is dedicated to simplifying parenthood and they've created a super simple and easy to use sling, stripped of all the "extras" to keep it super minimal. It's great for New York City parents because it folds up really small and you can tuck it in a pocket. It goes on really easily so you can use it to carry your baby while you try to get your stroller down the subway steps. Or those times when you are using the stroller but your baby just wants you to hold them. It's great for air travel because you can walk through security wearing your baby and they won't make you take them off! (no metal parts). And it's 100% cotton and washable. The Puj Go sling also has a higher carrying hip-carry that creates less strain on the parent and is more supportive for your child, but it's the fabrics that will make you need one. Carrying my baby in a sling might be the single thing I miss most about having an baby. and I would have absolutely LOVED to have one as beautiful as this. It's really not fair, but I've decided to get over my envy and give away one of these pretty slings to one lucky person. Just leave a comment on this post by Sunday, January 13, 2008 for a chance to be our winner. And for the rest of us, Puj Go is giving 10% off all orders until February 10th, 2008 with the code POPPINS. Feel free to pass that around to your friends. Why shouldn't everyone have a prettier sling than I ever did.
