Lakewood's Tree Lighting Ceremony is held in person in 2021.

 

Lakewood's annual tree lighting ceremony broadcasts live in a 30-minute ceremony. Santa Claus makes an appearance and wishes everyone a happy holiday season. Carolers sing holiday tunes to spread the yuletide cheer.

Following the program, Lakewood City Council and special guests light up the 24-foot-tall tree in the Civic Center Plaza and ring in the joyous season.

Although the community cannot safely gather as in past years because of COVID-19, everyone can join in virtually  by tuning in to Lakewood City TV channel 31 (Spectrum and Frontier), channel 99 (AT&T) or the city’s website.
