PJ Our Way tweens and families can spend the afternoon use technology for a great mitzvah! Together, guests and community members help identify accessible locations in the Lower Merion Area.

At 2 PM, participants gather at the JFCS Brodsky building for an opening presentation. Each PJOW family downloads a smartphone app called “Access Earth” and views a map of a small area in Lower Merion (a 5 minute drive.) Families use sleuthing skills and a tape measure to identify the accessibility of local business and enter it into the app. Are the entrances big enough for a wheelchair? Are there steps only, or a ramp too? Community members can then check the app before they venture out so they know what to expect.

At 3:30 PM, guests return to JFCS for snacks and an exhibit of art focusing on disability awareness.
