5/19/11 - By Mary Beth Lawlor

Yes, We've had our share of rain drops this week; however, rumor has it that the sun is suppose to make an appearance over the weekend. That's good for the Beardsley Zoo because this weekend is the grand opening of their new "Wild Open Space Play Area".  The Robin Hood Springtime Festival finishes up this weekend so check it out before they close up shop. A few more outdoor activities include a night hike for kids along with smore's by a camp fire as well as an outdoor screening of Kung Fu Panda for the entire family.

For indoor fun both Pippi Longstocking and Goldie Locks are on stage. All class clowns are invited to attend a Night of Improv at Kent Memorial Library and story time and book sales are taking place at the libraries.

To see a complete listing of events for this weekend check out the Mommy Poppins Event Calendar.
