4th of July Fireworks in Hartford County, Connecticut

Connecticut will be celebrating with a variety of Independence Day events and activities this season. You can find plenty of fireworks displays on the 4th of July and beyond within the Hartford County area. Dress yourself in some red, white and blue and show your patriotism by checking out one of the following fun events! Note that some celebrations are as early as June 29th.

Lake Compounce is joining in on the patriotic celebration with a fireworks display beginning at 10 pm. On Wednesday July 4th enjoy a day at the park and end the night with their spectacular fireworks show.

The town of Vernon will be hosting their annual fireworks on Tuesday July 3 at Henry Park.

On Friday July 6th Windsor Locks will be having fireworks at Veterans Memorial Park from 9:30-10pm. LIMITED FREE Parking is available, additional parking is available at the Windsor Locks High School at 58 South Lem St.

This year’s Riverfest features free entertainment including live bands, musicians, clowns and other walk-a-bout entertainers, children’s activities and more. Starting at 9 pm the breathtaking fireworks show over the river highlights the traditional Hartford festival. The fireworks can be viewed along the river in many areas in Hartford and East Hartford. Morgan Street Garage will offer $4 parking as well as CT Science Center and designated areas in the town of East Hartford. Check the website for more information and directions.

Enfield’s Fourth of July Celebration is hosting fireworks from 9:45-10:30 pm on Sunday July 8th with music from the Hartford Symphony orchestra accompanying the beautiful display. If you arrive early you can sample some tasty food from the Taste of Enfield.

The Talcott Mountain Music Festival at the Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows will be having a special Celebrate America theme where the Hartford Symphony Orchestra will be playing America’s favorite classics along to fireworks. Friday June 29 at 7:30 will be this patriotic themed festival. Single seat tickets are available for $20-45 and lawn tickets for children 12 and under are $5.

On July 4th from 5-9 pm Stanley Quarter Park will be hosting the Great American Boom carnival rides and games, inflatables, hot air balloon rides, clowns, caricaturists, magicians, live music, a large assortment of vendors selling everything from slushies, fried Oreos, French fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, steak and cheese grinders, Gyros, Thai food, Buffalo wings, cotton candy, ice cream and more. Fireworks will than follow the event at 9:15 pm.
