The Robertson Center and a group of longtime kindergarten educators lead a discussion on what teachers look for when students walk in on the first day. Dig into the skills and behaviors that set the youngest scholars up for successful thinking and learning as they embark on their academic journeys.

When kindergarteners walk through the classroom doors on their first day of school, they often leave behind caregivers who are nervous to send them off to “big kid” school. As 5-year-olds spend their summer transitioning out of preschool and into their K-12 journey, it makes sense to wonder “what can families do to help get their kiddos ready for kindergarten?”
