Visiting artist Paulina Perera-Riveroll shares this special Mexican cultural holiday when the spirits of the beloved come home and visit. Kids learn about the traditional use of the four elements to adorn retablos, small boxes filled with meaning and purpose to honor a loved one, and decorate a box with objects and found natural materials. (Bring a photo of your dear one, if you like.)

Participants also create a group “altar” honoring a former resident, the majestic copper beech tree that stood in the Shade Border, providing shade and beauty to countless visitors.

Admission is free until noon on Saturday.
