Visit Brooklyn Children’s Museum over spring break for Earth Rocks!, a celebration of Earth. Over ten days, celebrate our awe-inspiring planet by exploring its ecosystems, resources and superpowers through art-making, animal encounters, science demos, and live music.

Plus, learn more about what we can do to be responsible stewards of our home planet and show our Earth some love.

What’s Your Wingspan?
10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. | All Ages
Fly down to the Science Inquiry Center and learn about birds of different sizes. Stretch out your wings and see how you measure up!

The Hive
11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. | All Ages
Buzz into ColorLab to make your own antennas and add a unique flower to our collaborative meadow sculpture. Join us on April 22 at 11:00 for a silk flower workshop with guest artist, Blanka Amezcua.

Spaceship Earth Reflection Room
12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. | All Ages
Pull up a bean bag and connect with others to talk about how humans interact with our environment—what we give, what we take, and what concerned humans are doing to improve humans’ relationship with Earth.

Hot Spot
12:00 p.m.-12:45 p.m. | All Ages
During Hot Spot, examine and hold volcanic stones from our collection. Experience a dramatic volcano demo on BCM’s rooftop.

Mineral Magic

Check out our fluorescent minerals in our cozy and creative Sensory Room! Create mixed-media clay beads inspired by the elements of Earth who sparkle and shine.

Animal Adventures

Join Earth-loving geologist Irving Horowitz for a conversation about the wonders of Earth’s rocks. Explore awesome minerals with Irving, who originally joined the BCM family in the 1930s as part of the Museum’s geological club, The Pick-N-Hammer Society.
