Learn about the history and culture of Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday celebrating the departed, with storytelling, a marigold installation and performances by Mariachi Real de Mexico featuring violins, trumpets, vihuela, guitarron and passionate vocals.

Marigold Installation
During Dia de los Muertos, marigolds are used as a guiding light and represent life. Help handcraft paper marigolds to add to the museum's installation.

Mariachi Real De Mexico
Featuring violins, trumpets, vihuela (round-backed tenor guitar), guitarron (deep-voiced bass guitar) and passionate vocals, Mariachi Real de Mexico represents the quintessential century-old tradition of the Mexican-folk derived Mariachi ensemble with a repertoire of classic rancheras and romantic boleros. Presented in collaboration with the Center for Traditional Music and Dance.
