The kids are out of school, now get them out of the house. Head to the park and join the Urban Park Rangers' FREE “Kids Week” programs. Immerse your kids, and yourself, in the natural world. 

Highlights include:

Create Your Dream Park –Van Cortlandt Nature Center, Bronx
Monday, April 18, 2022 | 1–2 p.m. 
Learn how parks are designed and let your imagination run free as you create your own dream park map. Which features would you use in your very own park creation? 

Tent Building – The Big Park, Staten Island (at Continental Pl. & Grandview Ave.) 
Tuesday, April 19, 2022 | 11 a.m.– Noon. 
Tent building is an essential part of an outdoor camping experience. Learn how to build a tent and other tips that will help you while you are enjoying the outdoors. 

Nature Exploration and Tree Planting – Forest Park Visitor Center, Queens 
Wednesday, April 20, 2022 | 10 a.m.– Noon 
Join the Urban Park Rangers, Forest Park Trails Crew and Forest Park Trust for a light hike around Strack Pond, followed by a tree planting activity.  

Animal Olympics – J. Hood Wright Park, Manhattan (at West 173rd St. & Fort Washington Ave.) 
Thursday, April 21, 2022 | 1 – 2 p.m. 
Can you jump as far as a coyote or grip as strong as an eagle? Test your agility and physical skills as you engage in activities that mirror everyday life of wildlife.  

Earth Day Celebration Hike  – Prospect Park, Brooklyn (Audubon Center at the Boathouse) 
Friday, April 22, 2022 | 1 –2 p.m. 
Celebrate Earth Day today with a fun-filled hike dedicated to nature and the earth..
