The Big Bubble Experiment Opening Weekend
- see all dates
Activate the science behind bubbles through blowing, stretching, popping, and looking closely at NYSCI's new Big Bubble Experiment, which features 10 exhibits, that offer a variety of tools and methods for exploring bubble solutions.
COLOR: Have you ever wondered why bubbles are so colorful? Stretch large sheets of bubble film to observe the colorful patterns, and learn how soap and water combine to create these swirling effects.
SHAPE: So why are bubbles round? Use bubble wands and air vents to explore surface tension and minimal surfaces. When you're ready for a challenge, try making giant bubbles with giant wands -- it's harder than it looks!
MAKE UP: Have you ever considered what's inside of a bubble? Use tubes blowing mist (water vapor) to make bubbles, and focus your attention on the foggy air trapped inside. See how many bubbles you can stack, or try blowing a bubble inside of another bubble.
