MoMath Mix-n-Mingle: Cracking the Brain's Code

Fri Dec 12, 2025
6:30pm to 8:30pm ET
Age: Middle and High School Students
Price: $10
Location:
National Museum of Mathematics

Middle and high school students can indulge in an evening of parent-free mathematical fun during MoMath’s mix-n-mingle program. This month, discover how mathematical ideas shed light on the way the brain organizes and processes information

Through vivid examples and interactive puzzles, see how something as basic as binary codes can offer surprising insight into the workings of the mind. Mathematician and MOST Fellow Julie Geraci shows tweens and teens how mathematics provides powerful tools for uncovering the hidden structure neural codes reveal.

Plus, explore dynamic exhibits, enjoy fun, hands-on mathematical exploration, and boogie down on New York City’s only interactive, light-up Voronoi dance floor, all with a peer group that thinks math is cool.

Register online in advance.

An adult chaperone (a parent, guardian, or other designated provider) must be present to sign in/out each student. The adult chaperone must provide a mobile number to be contacted in the event of an emergency during the event.
