King Lear
New York Classical Theatre presents William Shakespeare’s King Lear, featuring the alternate "Hollywood ending” of Nahum Tate’s 1681 adaptation, which was popular in England for over 150 years until Shakespeare’s original tragic text was restored in 1838.
Tickets are free, although reservations are recommended due to limited audience capacity for safety protocols. Your free reservation is for a socially distanced spot on the grass.
All NY Classical performances are 2 hours or less (120 minutes) with no intermission. If there is inclement weather, you will be notified if you have RSVP’ed.
While audience capacity is limited, walk-up participants are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance with necessary Contact Tracing Information and Social Distancing.
