Ice Cream Social in the Heights
Explore the history of ice cream in America and its ties to presidential history while enjoying scoops from Sugar Hill Creamery. Alexis Coe, author You Never Forget Your First: A Biography of George Washington, shares insights into the animals at Mt. Vernon, including Washington’s dog, Sweetlips, and cattle raised for cream.
Alexis is available after the event to sign books and take additional questions. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to Sunday, July 17th at 4pm.
Pre-registration is required; spaces are limited.
Safety Requirements: This socially-distanced workshop is held outside of Morris-Jumel Mansion for one hour. Masks must be worn by all participants, and adult participants must complete a health screening questionnaire for their pods and remain with their children during the workshop.
