This puppet performance caters to young audiences and makes visible the invisible work of sanitation workers, while honoring sanitation professionals who keep society healthy and safe. The story focuses on Gerry, a '70s-era sanitation worker who has a soft spot for finding treasures in the trash.

While others mock Gerry, he finds beauty and joy in these objects. When his oldest son is drafted to Vietnam, these treasures become a magical way for Gerry and his younger child to find hope and share it with the entire community.

Told with Bunraku-style puppetry, this excerpt is followed by a puppet-making workshop. No experience is necessary. Materials provided.

In case of rain, the show moves inside to the Dweck Center.
