Brooklyn Preschool of Science

Brooklyn Preschool of Science aims to excite young kids about learning and to engage their innate curiosity about the world. The age-appropriate, science-based curriculum taps into a child’s need to understand how things work while providing a foundation for meaningful math, language, and literacy development. The staff believes that early positive experiences with science and math offer benefits throughout all stages of education and life.

Brooklyn Preschool of Science has been designed to stimulate a child's sense of wonder, from the living wall of plants to the 300-gallon fish tanks to the multitude of living creatures residing in the classrooms. The school aims for kids to ask questions incessantly. Its goal is to respect and nurture little scientists as they spend their days investigating the world's workings.

Why Science?

  • Why is the sky blue? Why do flowers need water? Children ask questions endlessly. Science taps into their deep need to learn about how the world works.
  • Science connects easily to math, language, artistic expression, and social studies. It’s the perfect core for an integrated curriculum.
  • Open-ended science activities engage children at a wide range of developmental levels. They also let teachers observe and respond to children’s individual strengths and needs.
  • Positive early experiences with STEM subjects have been shown to contribute to future success in school and life.

The Brooklyn Preschool of Science runs from September through mid-June.  We then offer a fantastic summer science extension for 6-7 weeks through July.  Our summer weeks have entertaining weekly thematic units of study to tap into your child's inquisitive mind.  Here is a glimpse at some of our weeks:
