The museum will celebrate our Stars and Stripes with a presentation and a children’s flag craft.  Tours of the restored, fully furnished farmhouse, built in 1740, and demonstrations of early American open hearth cooking are included.

On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress resolved that “the flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white,” and that “the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”  In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson officially established June 14 as Flag Day.
