In this interactive workshop, students will learn the basics of network communications and how computers communicate via these networks. Using Cisco Ethernet switches and their own laptops, participants will construct a private network and exchange information through the network.

They will also be taught how to use a protocol analyzer to capture and inspect traffic on the network. Finally, the instructor will discuss network security and demonstrate methods of securing communications.
