Visitors are invited for a rare nighttime climb up the 199-step spiral staircase to the top of the Cape May Lighthouse, by the light of a full moon. The reward is a nighttime view 156 feet above the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean.
Interpretive panels along the climb tell stories of lighthouse keepers, the surrounding area, and how the lighthouse functioned historically. The 1859 Cape May Lighthouse is a state historic site and still an active aid to navigation today.
Purchase tickets from the keeper at the lighthouse the night of the event.
