Monarch Butterfly Day

Mile Square Regional Park

Children and families can learn everything about the California Western Monarch Butterfly and its habitat with an up-close look at the magnificent creatures while they flutter inside netted butterfly enclosures in Mile Square Regional Park’s Forest Shelter.

Children can learn how to plant their own butterfly garden. Participants can also go inside a netted butterfly enclosure. Butterfly experts are on-site to provide educational information and answer questions about the beautiful and unique specimens.

Additional event activities include  interpretive programs, children’s crafts, face painting and a balloon artist.  Food available for purchase.

The free event takes place at Shelter #15 near Parking Lot F (Ward Street and Edinger). 

Parking is free. (Enter at the Ward Street / Edinger Park Entrance)
