The Natural History Museum presents a two-day celebration of Nature in the City—culminating in the annual opening of the Butterfly Pavilion!

We share the city of Los Angeles with many interesting animal neighbors, from the Griffith Park mountain lion to the birds in the Nature Gardens.  NHM visitors are invited to explore the wild side of Los Angeles. Guests can meet falcons, owls, opossums, and reptiles.Museum scientists are on hand to answer questions about all things city nature.

Festival Highlights Include:

  • Over 35 exhibitor booths in partnership with local organizations
  • Access to scientists and nature experts to answer questions
  • Live animal presentations, stage performances and nature walks
  • Raptor flight demonstrations.
  • Step and repeat with Nickelodeon's SpongeBob characters
