Oxnard Parade of Lights Celebration and Boat Parade *Canceled*
The annual Parade of Lights at the Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and concerns for spectators, the Ventura County Harbor Department has announced.
Oxnard gets ready for the holidays with a boat parade that starts will a full day of waterside activities. Families can expect snow play, children's activities, an artists market, and carolers. When Santa flies across the night sky, get ready for the parade to begin.
The fun starts in the morning with snow play starting at 10am; Santa is available from noon to 4pm, posing for photos with families free of charge.
At 6 pm, guests can head over to the Channel Islands Maritime Museum and watch the Holiday Lighting of the 75-foot “Tallship Mast” in front of the museum. This event takes place just before the Parade of Lights starts. There are carolers, sing-alongs, a visit from Santa and the official mast lighting.
The parade starts at 7 pm in front of Peninsula Park and heads to the Main Channel, turns at Kiddie Beach, loops in front of the launch ramp then heads back to Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club and repeats the route for a second run. The parade can be viewed from parks and walkways that line the route as well as from most Harbor restaurants. Boat charters are available for those who want to watch the parade from the water.
