Night on Broadway
UPDATE: The next Night on Broadway event will be held in 2020.
DTLA’s historic Broadway Corridor is teaming with all kinds of free entertainment and activities, including a Kids Zone, a Ferris Wheel, and lots and lots of performances, all to remind us that DTLA is awesome.
Night on Broadway is a celebration of the revitalized Historic Broadway corridor in Downtown LA. For nine hours Saturday evening, families can enjoy free innovative, multi-cultural entertainment programming in some of Broadway’s historic theaters and an on-street festival area with booths and pop-up shops from local DTLA businesses, a family-friendly kids’ area, and a main stage featuring live musical performances.
Night on Broadway revolves around short-form presentations and interactive activities that encourage circulation from venue to venue and experience to experience. The event is free, though some optional activities do charge a fee.
Full details on the locations and performances (there are lots!) can be found on the website.
Of particular interest for families is the The Kid’s Zone. A Ferris Wheel allow a birds-eye view of Downtown, (ticket purchase required).
The organizers recommend baby-wearing for small children, as the crowds may be difficult to navigate with a stroller is tough. Some acts may not be appropriate for all ages, mostly for language. Those that require parental awareness are marked on the venue map.
The address listed is just one of the many venues for this event. Night on Broadway is on Broadway between 3rd St. and Olympic.
