Thousands are expected to gather on Earth Day in Pershing Square for the March for Science.
The March for Science is a celebration of science. It's not only about scientists and politicians; it is about the very real role that science plays in each of our lives and the need to respect and encourage research that gives us insight into the world.
A science Expo is held at Pershing Square Park during and following the March. The Expo consists of family-friendly Interactive Demonstrations (see science in action!), Science Communication/Education -and policy info, (opportunities to learn more about pro-science candidates and initiatives.).
There is no cost to the event.
Recommended arrival time is 9am. Speakers begin at 10am and the march starts at 11am.
Participants are advised to use public transportation/ ride sharing services for transportation to the march, in anticipation of high congestion and street closures in the Downtown LA area.
Similar marches are being held across the country and throughout the world, including one in Washington DC. In the So Cal area, marches are also being held in Pasadena and Fullerton.
