4th of July Parade & Pier Festival
The Independence Day celebrations in Huntington Beach include a three-day pier festival, a 5k run, a pancake breakfast, a parade, and fireworks.
The theme of this year's parade is Sweet Land of Liberty. 2019's Celebrity Grand Marshal is Lorenzo Lamas. The parade starts at 10am on the 4th of July. The parade is over two miles and two hours long and includes floats, marching bands, civic organizations and celebrity guests.
A total of 1,300 rounds of fireworks are shot off the end of the Huntington Beach Pier starting at 9pm. Fireworks viewing is free from the beach, but those who want to get closer to the action can purchase tickets to sit on the pier.
Other fun includes the Surf City 5k (with a kids run and stroller 5k options), and a pancake breakfast, both on Thursday morning.
The multi-day festival at Pier Plaza, next to the Huntington Beach Pier, includes activities, entertainment and food, and runs 10am- 9pm July 4 - 6.
