Actress Viola Davis serves as the narrator for LA Phil's production of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

In this "symphonic fairy tale for children," the narrator tells a children's story while the orchestra illustrates it, with different instruments representing each animal character in the tale.

Also performed this evening are selections from Margaret Bonds’ Montgomery Variations. Written in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Selma-to-Montgomery marches, the Variations are a cycle of spirituals that were lost, restored, and finally performed for the first time in 2018.

Single concert tickets are onsale June 1.

2021 Safety Procedures

The Hollywood Bowl is designating the majority of all concert seats to fully vaccinated patrons These sections are not socially distanced. Proof of vaccination and photo ID are required upon entry.

Two seating sections are available to guests who are not fully vaccinated. These seats are socially distanced and separated from vaccination-required sections. Guests are required to show a negative COVID-19 test result and a photo ID upon entry.

Children age two or more who are not eligible to be vaccinated may sit with their parent, guardian, or sponsor in either type of seating if they have tested negative. Children younger than two do not need to be tested and may also sit with their parent, guardian, or sponsor.

For all guests two or older, masks are required except when dining in one's seat or a designated area. Guests should keep 6 feet between themselves and others while entering and exiting the venue or moving through common areas.
