The Fowler Museum reopens to visitors, with two new exhibits to boot!

The Map and the Territory: 100 Years of Collecting at UCLA  distills the vast holdings of UCLA’s diverse collections into a single exhibition. The exhibition juxtaposes rare books and manuscripts, historic prints, contemporary paintings and drawings, abstract animations, ceramics, musical instruments, bird and animal specimens, meteorites, and more.

Photo Cameroon: Studio Portraiture, 1970s–1990s features over 110 black-and-white images from the post-independence era, during decades considered to be the height of studio photography in Cameroon. The photographers took pictures for government mandated IDs as well as individual portraits of the same community members
(July 1 - December 5, 2021)

The Fowler's new hours are Thursday through Sunday, noon to 5pm.  

The Fowler is following health and safety guidelines issued by the State of California, Los Angeles County, and UCLA. Face masks are required of all visitors and staff.
