Drop-In Workshops for Families: Stop-Motion
- see all dates
Stop what you're doing -- and make it move!
The Academy Museum hosts drop-in workshops on the art of stop-motion animation.
Families can create their own stop-motion animation using paper cutouts. Following the theme of friendship in this month’s family matinee series films, families can tell their own stories of friendship through the art of stop-motion animation.
To further explore stop-motion and other forms of animation, participants can check out the Inventing Worlds and Characters: Animation gallery in the Stories of Cinema exhibition on Level 3.
Workshop Dates:
Saturdays: January 6, 13, and 20
Guests can join the activity anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.
Workshops are free with museum admission and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Museum admission is free for youth ages 17 and under.
