Design by Diversity Day Block Party:Helen Liu Fong

Students can learn about design from professionals at this free annual event.
2024's event celebrates Helen Liu Fong, an icon of Southern California Googie Architecture.
The Block Party includes a variety of ways to engage, from information on the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry and activity booths to mentoring sessions, exhibitions, speakers, and more.
DxD Day hosts partners from across the fields of architecture, art, design, construction, and engineering, all of whom offer amazing activities for students of all ages. Volunteers share their experiences and perspectives on how to pursue potential careers paths.
This free event is open to the public and welcomes elementary, middle, and high school students, families, educators, professionals, and community members interested in architecture, design, engineering, and construction
DxD Day connects professionals to students across many experience levels to create a “circular mentorship” platform and to introduce interest in design professions at a young age and encourage retention of diverse design professionals at all stages of their career.
