Children’s author Dr. Kathleen Contreras visits La Plaza to celebrate the release of Born to Play Béisbol: The Magical Career of Fernando Valenzuela, the first children’s book, in English and Spanish, on a true baseball legend and L.A. Dodger cultural icon, Fernando Valenzuela.

Guests can hear stories about Fernando’s legacy, not only his baseball triumphs, but also his contribution to promoting a multicultural fan base at Dodger Stadium and ball parks around the country and widening the playing field to global players from the Americas, the Caribbean, and Asia.

A book signing follows.
