California Botanic Garden celebrates California's amazing plants and animals with the grand opening of its Bird & Butterfly Garden.

The weekend includes free mini-workshops on Butterfly and Bird gardening with native plants, family-friendly activities and crafts, the debut of a new photography exhibit, and a Sunday evening mariachi concert.

Saturday, June 22:

8am - 8pm: Floral Fluorescence Exhibit (Sage Gallery) & Bird & Butterfly Garden T-Shirt Contest Art Exhibit (Outdoor Classroom)

11am- 4pm: Arts & Crafts, Expert Booths, Activity Sheet, and more

11am : Gardening for the Butterflies Class

12:30pm: All About Native Milkweeds Class

2pm: Gardening For the Birds Class

4pm: Artist Q&A: Craig Burrows on Floral Fluorescence

5pm - 6:30pm: Opening reception & cocktail hour for Floral Fluorescence Photography Exhibit in the Sage Gallery

Sunday, June 23:
