The 2023 Sheep Shearing Festival offers a close-up view of how sheep are shorn and wool is processed. Guests can learn about natural dyes, how to wash wool, and visit the farm to feed the organic sheep.

There are also sheep and wool related activities including various crafts, hands-on experiences in wool processing and lamb-themed dishes from the Eatery.

Graciano, the sheep shearer, demonstrates how the sheep are freed from their winter woolies. Participants can also see what happens to the fleece once it leaves the sheep (washing, carding, dyeing, and spinning).  (Please note: although the process might look rough at certain instances, the sheep are not hurt in the shearing process.)

Sheep Shearing demonstrations are held from 10am - 2pm.

Additional activities include

  • 15 minutes rides aboard an antique tractor-pulled wagon to the 1000-year old oak tree and back. (nominal fee applies)
  • Meeting the sheep and feeding them leaves from olive branches. (sign up in person; free, limited space)
  • Petting zoo with baby farm animals. (Free; guests are asked to be gentle with the animals, no holding)

Free admission with paid parking. Parking starts at $16 per vehicle.

In case of rain the Sheep Shearing Festival is canceled. Tickets can be used towards the following weekend or any future festival
