International School of Los Angeles - Ecole du Soleil

International School of Los Angeles

The International School of Los Angeles was established in 1978 as a non-profit organization by visionaries of varied cultural backgrounds who felt that the Los Angeles community needed a school which would prepare children for life in an increasingly international environment. The school is now recognized as one of the most academically challenging private high schools in the United States and continues its long commitment to academic excellence.

At the International School of Los Angeles, students adopt ways of thinking and expression that reflect an appreciation for cultural differences and multiple world views. Diverse groups learn more from each other when exchanging different points of view, introducing new pieces of information, and confronting alternative ideas. The school’s small and nurturing classes facilitate the sharing of different viewpoints. Being immersed in a truly multicultural environment helps develop the ability to better understand one’s own culture.

Ecole du Soleil Summer Camp

The International School of Los Angeles’ Ecole du Soleil summer camp runs for 5 weeks on the School’s Los Feliz campus.

La Petite Ecole du Soleil is for campers entering preschool and pre-kindergarten, while La Grande Ecole du Soleil is for campers entering kindergarten-5th grade. For the youngest campers, the goal is to introduce the French language through day-to-day activities. Mornings will focus on the acquisition of the French language, while afternoons will consist of various fun activities including games, arts, crafts, sports, singing, and reading. Older campers will enjoy French classes and a range of engaging activities including sports, dance, magic, music, and more.

L’Ecole du Soleil offers a bustling daily schedule and a watchful counseling staff. The objective of the camp is to introduce children to the French language and culture at an early age while they still have a linguistic openness to easily learn a second language. Previous exposure to French is not required. The program provides a unique learning context in which your children will learn at their own pace in a fun, genuine, French summer camp environment!
