Weekend Fun for LI Kids: Santa Brunch, Ice Show, Hanukkah

Things to Do on Long Island with Kids | December 17-18

Celebrate this December weekend with the Holiday Classic Ice Showa Winter Wonderland Party, or the Whaling Center's Yankee Whaler Holiday Party for throwback fun. Shake a tail feather with Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights at the Long Island Children's Museum, or head out for some children's theater like Mary PoppinsMadagascar, and these pretty Nutcrackers.

There are also holiday light shows and local homes lit up with holiday cheer, inflatables, and synchronized Christmas tunes. There's still time to visit a LI tree farm to cut down your own Christmas tree, and you can catch Santa at breakfasts all over Long Island or at these photo-op spots. Kids can also enjoy the kickoff of Hanukkah fetes and crafts this weekend.

Wallet feeling the pinch from all that holiday fun (and gift giving)? Check out these deals for hot kid destinations and services like the Rockettes and Sahara Sam's indoor water park. Warning: Many expire soon!

For the most fun per square inch, check the Mommy Poppins December GoList and Holiday Fun Guide. And don't forget to book those Christmas Eve and day feasts at these family-friendly Long Island restaurants!
