Sesame Street: K is for Kindness Tour – Garden City
Another January GoList pick: Sesame Street is introducing the theme of its new season with the "K is for Kindness Tour," which begins at Roosevelt Field Mall today! Event to include meet and greets with the costumed characters, a 15-minute interactive live stage show starring walk-around versions of the series’ beloved characters Elmo and Abby Cadabby, and other special surprises. Braille Fest – Garden City
At the Long Island Children's Museum, learn about life of Louis Braille and his key invention through hands-on experiences. Kids will gain an understanding of how a person who is blind can enjoy the same activities as a person who is sighted.
Let's Explore the Winter Beach – Hampton Bays
Search for trinkets, learn about tides and different types of sand on this beach walk. Kids can also explore how to tell the age of the animal that made a shell, and possible evidence of shell predation.

Home Depot offers do-it-yourself skills and tool safety while creating a project. This week they'll make toolboxes. All kids get to keep their craft at this event, and they'll also receive a free certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin. FREE
