Enjoy These Great Things to Do With Kids on Long Island This Week, July 17-21

Some kids might be in camp, but that doesn't mean the fun slows down here on Long Island.

From movies under the stars to foot-stomping musicals, there is plenty of kid- and adult-friendly fun happening all over the Island. Monday, July 17

Camp Creativity — Islandwide
Head to your local Michael’s store from 10am to noon, where kids can enjoy a new craft and theme each week. Enjoy this event Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through July 28.

Dances in the Park — Greenport
Enjoy the Bobby Nathan Band at Mitchell Park at 7:30pm; bring a blanket and lawn chairs. FREE

Dave Jay — Franklin Square, Oceanside
The singer and storyteller brings his unique children's act to Rath Park in Franklin Square (10:30am) and Oceanside Park (1:30pm). Other performances throughout the week.

Our Backyard Seasonal Water Exhibit — Garden City
Every Tuesday through September 5, kids can enjoy the Long Island Children’s Museum’s seasonal backyard exhibit. This award-winning outdoor exhibit offers a sensory garden, water table, and lush plants. It’s totally interactive and open from 10am to 5pm.

Global Explorer Family Backpacks — Hempstead
At this Hofstra University Museum event, kids can explore the outdoor sculpture collection and create their own works of art.

Wednesday, July 19

Firemen’s Fair — Huntington Station
Kids and adults can enjoy rides, games, food, and fun at Henry L. Stimson Middle School. Admission is FREE; tickets and bracelets for rides are available for purchase. It’s open from 7pm to 11pm. Enjoy fireworks Wednesday through Saturday at 9:30.

The Magic of Alexo — Elmont
The magician brings his one-of-a-kind act to BroadHollow Theatre at Elmont for a one-day-only show.

Alive After Five — Patchogue
