The fling, held at the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center in Yaphank, is Long Island's annual championship pumpkin catapult contest.

This is a unique opportunity for students and adults to experience the joys and trials of designing, building and operating sophisticated mechanical devices.  The first fling is at 10 am. Admission by donation. There is a $50 fee to enter a youth team. Watch the pumpkins fly or enter your own device! Human-powered only.
