Take Your Child to the Library Day
During school winter break, Emma Clark Library is again participating in “Take Your Child to the Library Day,” an international movement to raise awareness for libraries.
Stop by on Wednesday, February 20 between 2 – 4 p.m. for carnival games, face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon sculpting, crafts and more.
Additionally, in keeping with the festivities of “Take Your Child to the Library Day”, each new library card sign-up on February 20 will be entered in a raffle. You’re never too young for a library card! Parents can get a card for their young one as soon as they are born and immediately start enjoying the Library’s resources, such as the “Time for Baby” classes.
According to the American Library Association, Americans go to libraries more than three times as frequently as they go to the movies. “Take Your Child to the Library Day” showcases the significance of libraries as a community hub, a foundation of education, and a source of entertainment and enrichment. This event encourages parents to take full advantage of their local library and emphasizes the importance of libraries to our future generation.
There is no registration, and families with kids of all ages (residents or nonresidents) are welcome. Meet up with friends – or make new ones – at Emma Clark!
