Lunar New Year Celebration at Landmark on Main Street

Landmark presents a day of cultural events with food, free crafts, activities and demonstrations in the Doctors' Gym - followed by a free afternoon performance by Nai-Ni Chen in the Jeanne Rimsky Theater.
10 am to 2 pm -- Doctors' Gym (basement of Landmark building)
Authentic Chinese food and crafts from The Glow Foundation. Crafts and demo participation are free! Food for purchase. Lanterns, festive trinkets and clothing for sale as well.

More demos T.B.A. including Chinese traditional dance, Lion Dance, Kung Fu and Chinese traditional instruments.

2:30 pm -- Jeanne Rimsky Theater (doors open at 2pm) NAI-NI CHEN DANCE COMPANY performs Red Firecrackers: The Legend of the First Chinese New Year!
Opening act - students from iSchool of Music & Art performing traditional Chinese music at 2:30pm.
Through dazzling props, colorful costumes, mesmerizing music, fantastic acrobatics and lively dance, Nai-Ni Dance Company showcases the legend and origins of the Chinese Lunar New Year traditions and celebration. In this legend, a group of villagers work, dance and pray together, defeating a terrifying monster of the ages. This heartwarming story highlights the intrinsic value of community, courage, hard-work and ingenuity.
