Ahoy mateys! Kalmar Nyckel, the tall ship of Delaware, is returning to Greenport, offering free deck tours on select Saturdays.
Launched in 1997, Kalmar Nyckel is the official tall ship of Delaware. "The ship is a full-scale replica of the Swedish merchant ship that landed in present-day Wilmington in 1638 to establish the colony of New Sweden, the first permanent European settlement in the Delaware Valley," according to a press release by the foundation.
NOTE: Public sails have sold out for this visit, but there are FREE deck tours on Saturdays, August 5 and 12 from 4-7pm.
