Families can begin their adventure at the Heckscher Museum exploring the exhibition Moonstruck: Lunar Art from the Collection.

Then, meet at The Vanderbilt Museum, Centerport, for a 30-minute live viewing and lecture of that night’s sky using the planetarium theater’s amazing projection system.  Guests will then see the full dome film, “Earth, Moon & Sun."

Weather permitting, there will be an opportunity to look through one of the Vanderbilt Observatory telescopes to see fine details of the moon up close and create a moon-themed craft. Sandwiches, snacks, and soft drinks will be available from the planetarium’s café for purchase.
