Join Jake at The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center for a chance to learn about the secret life of the Eastern Lead-backed Salamander. Although this salamander species is one of the most abundant vertebrates in forest habitats throughout the Northeast, they are rarely spotted on your average walk through the woods. 

These salamanders are fossorial, spending most of their time underground. Roll logs and stones searching for these fascinating critters, learn about their life underground, as well as their importance in forest ecosystems.
