In collaboration with The Leaders of the New School, the Heckscher Museum of Art features Black History Month: An Artistic Fusion of Heritage & Culture.

Featuring artwork by students from Huntington High School and Walt Whitman High School.

About the show: This Black History Month, in the spirit of Anna & August Heckscher's vision for the museum as a haven "especially for the children," The Heckscher Museum of Art and The Leaders of the New School proudly present An Artistic Fusion of Heritage and Culture. This transformative event amplifies the artistic brilliance of BIPOC youth in Huntington. Through vibrant displays of visual and performing arts, this collaboration embodies The Heckschers’ commitment to inclusivity and offers a platform where young talents shine. Join us in honoring diversity, fostering creativity, and realizing the Heckschers’ dream of a museum that truly belongs to all, especially the youth who hold the future's creative keys. Remarks on Saturday, February 24, at 1pm.

Leaders of the New School’s mission is to provide empowerment, programs and resources to the youth disproportionately impacted by political, social and economic inequities.

On View February 24 and 25, 12 - 5 pm: February 24, 1 pm: Celebratory Remarks and Live Vocal Performance by Celina Quinones.
