The February AdvoKids program at the Long Island Children's Museum focuses on Black History Month. Learn how this annual observance began and understand the importance of why it is celebrated.

Visitors will also learn about impactful Black artists such as sculptor Edmonia Lewis, and then create a mini sculpture. This is a drop-in program; the sculpture takes approximately 10 minutes and it is yours to keep.

AdvoKids is a monthly series focusing on children learning what it means to be an advocate for themselves and others. Adults will learn how they can support their child’s self-advocacy efforts, which promote confidence, resilience and empathy.
